We are mourning the loss of Tom Hernandez longtime Director of Community Relations who passed away April 15, 2024.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Glenn Wood said Hernandez was a thoughtful, caring person representing District 202 proudly and professionally.
“Tom Hernandez was a true champion for District 202 and was well known for his professionalism, positive attitude, and big heart. He was known as “The Voice” of 202 because he made the school cancellation phone calls and often served as emcee for district and other events. Hernandez’s legacy is one of compassion and community. He will be deeply missed.”

🧡The Plainfield East High School Alumni Art Show was a success.🧡
Thirteen PEHS alumni showcased their work at the inaugural event on October 19.
Alumni cut the ribbon to commemorate the high school’s new exhibition space above the Media Center.
This show also served as a Senior Art Show for a few former students as they never had the opportunity as they graduated in spring 2020.
“This exhibition brings together the past and the present, uniting our alumni, our current students, and our faculty in a celebration of artistic expression,” said PEHS art teacher Emily Tonon.
“It is my hope that all alumni, whether former art students or not, who are creating art, will exhibit with us in the future,” Tonon said.
